  • YOUNG NAMED MEAC OFFENSIVE LINEMAN OF WEEK

    NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University redshirt junior center Michael Young was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Offensive Lineman of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.

    Young received a grade of 95 percent on his blocking assignments in Saturday's 31-28 loss to No. 22/22 Richmond. He recorded three pancake block and did not give up a sack as the Pirates racked up 337 yards of total offense.

    Jawill Davis of Bethune-Cookman was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Delaware State's Terrick Colston was named Defensive Player of the Week. Florida A&M's Devin Bowers was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.

    Hadji Gaylord from Norfolk State was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

    The Pirates will return to action on Friday, when they take on Howard in Washington, D.C. as part of the AT&T Nation's Football Classic.
